Seesam must be notified of damage as soon as possible, but not later than within three working days of the occurrence of the insured event.
General requirements for loss events of property insurance
- Try to limit further loss and damage to the property. Save what can be saved!
- Notify Seesam about what happened as soon as possible and follow Seesam's instructions.
- Fill in Seesam's Property Insurance Loss Application Form or draw up an application on your company form, enclose a list of the damaged property and a letter of explanation about what happened.
- In the case of cargo insurance losses, fill in the Cargo Insurance Loss Application Form or draw up an application on your company form, enclose a list of the damaged property and a letter of explanation about what happened.
- Keep the remains of the property that you want to have indemnified.
- Keep the scene of damage untouched until a representative of Seesam has inspected it.
Fire
- If necessary, evacuate the people or give first aid to the injured person(s).
- Start fighting the fire with the basic fire extinguishing equipment.
- If the fire cannot be controlled, call the fire department. To do so, call 112, the emergency number of the Rescue Board.
- Guide the firefighters and help them find the fire quickly.
- Have a person who knows the building and the location of the property, pipes and the switchboard help the firefighters.
Burglary, robbery, vandalism
- Notify the police. To do so, call 110.
Leakage damage
- Find the cause of the leakage damage and try to close the valves.
- Start cleaning and drying immediately.
Liability insurance
- Notify Seesam of the damage immediately.
- Try to obtain as many materials and evidence explaining the circumstances of the damage.
- Help Seesam in identification of the size of the damage and the liability of the policyholder.
- Do not make any promises or agreements without Seesam's approval.
